CAN YOU SPARE A FEW HOURS TO HELP?
We run an active volunteer programme and there are many different opportunities to help. You can give as little or as much time as you are able, safe in the knowledge that you are doing something to help homeless dogs.
Currently we have work available in the following areas:
Socialisation dog walking, grooming, play and one to one TLC and/or Kennel Work (helping us to keep the kennels clean and hygienic) and/or Grounds work (helping to keep the grounds in good order)
Meet and Greet, Matchmaking and Adoption Follow Up meeting our visitors and trying to help them to find the right dog for their family and circumstances. Completing the adoption paperwork and following up with phone calls after 2 weeks and after 3 months, just to see how things are working out and to offer support and encouragement re neutering etc.
Events and Fundraising Assistance at our special events and help with fundraising (Can you make things we can sell? Can you run a stall for us?)
Donation Monitor Collecting, receipting and delivering collection boxes and emptying food bins in shops. Developing new areas where we can have food bins.

Office and Admin Helping us out at our busy times with mailings, phones etc.
Doggy PR Can you assist our small team of volunteers in promoting the dogs in our care with a view to successful rehoming?
Charity Shops Could you help out in our shops at either Harpurhey and/or Reddish?
Pet Therapy The PAT Scheme where dogs are taken into hospitals etc. This area of voluntary work is only available at Cheshire Dogs' Home.
Education Could you help with our education programmes? Amongst other things we visit schools and help children learn to respect and care for animals and prevent bites.
